DAMON AND VALTTERI BACKING A NORRIS v RUSSELL SHOOTOUT FOR THE TITLE IN 2026
DAMON HILL thinks Lando Norris will “have his work cut out” dealing with fellow Brit George Russell next year.
And Mercedes reserve driver Valtteri Bottas agrees that Russell has proven this year he has what it takes to deliver the title.
Mercedes are well positioned to finish second in the constructors’ championship, but never had the car to challenge runaway champions McLaren.
Russell (below) has still starred, having stepped out of Lewis Hamilton's shadow to lead the team with multiple victories and a string of consistent performances.
If Mercedes have the car and engine to fight for glory in 2026, then Hill believes Russell could be the title favourite.
