PEN PAL CLARK STEALS POINT

- By Ivan Speck

A CONTROVERSIAL 96th-minute Max Clark penalty rescued a derby draw for Gillingham and kept Gareth Ainsworth’s side top of League Two.

Bromley’s Grant Smith was adjudged to have felled Gillingham substitute Garath McCleary. The keeper then received nearly four minutes of treatment before he was beaten by Clark's spot-kick.

Until then, it seemed that two goals in the first 12 minutes from Nicke Kabamba and Michael Cheek would be enough for Bromley to leapfrog their local rivals and sit top of the table for the first time in the clubs fledgling EFL history.
