'We'll be laying off a lot of people

DONALD Trump has threatened massive job losses and put out a taunting video as the US government shut down yesterday.
Its public services were suspended after Democrat Senators blocked a Republican short-term spending bill, as it did not extend funding for health insurance support.
But far from showing empathy to the workers going unpaid, President Trump seemed to revel in the misery.
He said: “A lot of good can come down from shutdowns. We can get rid of a lot of things that we didn't want, and they would be Democrat things.
“We can do things that are irreversible... we'll be laying off a lot of people.”
