Hooker back from Scots exile but warned he'll have to fight for spot
GEORGE TURNER has walked back into the Scotland squad but boss Gregor Townsend says he won't be sauntering back into his starting XV.
The former Glasgow hooker has been called up for the summer tour to the South Pacific, which kicks off in three-and-a-half weeks' time, after a year's exile in Japan.
Turner was first choice for his country before he left the Warriors for Kobelco Kobe Steelers, racking up 45 caps.
But Townsend has warned the 32-year-old will have to fight to get the jersey back for clashes with the Maori All Blacks, Fiji and Samoa.
The head coach said: "George knows he's missed the last 12 months so he's got ground to make up. He'll have to train well, he'll have to fit back into our way of playing.
