THELIN: WE MUST LEARN FROM THIS
Daily Record
|August 29, 2025
JIMMY THELIN admitted he and his players have to learn lessons if Aberdeen want to make an impact in the Conference League.
-
The Swede claimed his Dons weren't ready as they crashed 3-0 in Bucharest to FCSB and went out of the Europa League 5-2 on aggregate.
The game turned on Alexander Jensen's first-half red card and the Romanians crushed them with a double from Darius Olaru and another strike from Adrian Sut.
Aberdeen will now have to make do with the Conference League group stage and will find out on today who they will face.
Thelin said: “The difference in the games was when we made mistakes they punished us really hard - and when they made mistakes we didn't punish them.
“They used their opportunities with calmness and quality, we had opportunities but couldn't really use them.
“They did better in the critical moments, they scored and we didn't when we had our moments.
