Card bets could pay off as big guns bid to avoid painful exit

THE big boys enter the Scottish Cup this weekend and punters will be casting an eye over the fixture list looking to find potential shocks.

The big David v Goliath tie comes tomorrow as Celtic take on West of Scotland Premier League side Auchinleck Talbot at Rugby Park.

With Talbot training on Irvine beach in midweek, there's some Chariots Of Fire vibes to add to the romance.

But Eric Liddell refused to run on the Sabbath and the bookies don't give Talbot much of a prayer, with the minnows as big as 60/1 with Paddy Power to pull off one of the biggest upsets in history.

Chariots of Fire scooped the Oscar for Best Picture in 1981 but when it comes to Celtic's activity in the January transfer window it has been more like the 1930 winner All Quiet On The Western Front.

Fans wanted to use this tie to bed in some new boys ahead of a titanic Premiership clash with leaders Hearts next weekend.
