A NURSERY said it was "shocked and saddened" after a baby and two toddlers were injured when a vehicle trailer struck a pram.

- BY ISLA STORIE

The three children were in the care of an employee who was pushing a pram when a loose trailer flew off the road and struck the group on a Dumfries pavement on Monday.

Emergency services were called to Pleasance Avenue at 3.15pm. An eight-month-old baby and 14 and 18-month-old tots were taken to hospital. An 18-year-old female nursery employee was also taken to hospital and discharged.

The nursery, which asked not to be named for the privacy of the kids, is cooperating with the authorities.
