Jensen's Dons Euro dream turns sour as he misses group opener thanks to red card in Bucharest

- BY SCOTT BURNS

ALEXANDER JENSEN'S European dream has turned into something of a nightmare.

The Aberdeen defender is getting his first taste of football on the continent but it hasn't exactly gone the way he had hoped.

Jensen ended up watching the end ofthe last match on an iPad and now he will have to watch the Dons’ Conference League opener against Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday from the stands.

It all comes as a result of his sending offin the second leg of their Europa League playoff away defeat to FCSB.

The incident happened with the tie level at 2-2 and he was harshly sent off as he gave away a penalty, which the Romanians netted and then eased past the 10-man Dons 5-2 on aggregate.

Jensen said: “I miss Shakhtar but Te moved on now and Iam looking forward. I can enjoy a football game further, | like that.

“I want to play more than watch, of course! Yeah, it (the sending off) was hard.
