Pulling firearms pair from duty over singer pic row was sex discrimination

TWO firearms officers pulled from duty after taking selfies with singer Tallia Storm have won a £50,000 sex discrimination case.
An employment tribunal found Police Scotland chiefs discriminated against Steven Jones and Greg Tunnock because they are men.
The officers claimed the cheerful photos taken in Edinburgh's Cowgate were branded “misogynistic” by bosses and the decision to withdraw their firearm duties was “kneejerk”.
Now the tribunal has backed them and concluded female officers “would not have been treated in the same manner”.
PC Jones was awarded £24,800.59 and PC Tunnock £23,824.56 for injury to feelings and loss of income.
