ROSS: LEAGUE FIRST BEFORE LISBON FOCUS

LEANNE ROSS has told her Glasgow City players to relish the challenge of trying to get beyond Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Women’s Cup.

The two-legged tie takes place next month with Ross enthused by the possibility of going further in the new tournament.

The City boss said: “We watched the draw together as a squad and everybody's quite happy in terms of just having that opportunity to challenge ourselves at this level for another game.

“When you get to this stage of the competition, there are no easy draws and every team's going to be tough.

“But have a look at their squad and the players they have, some of the results they've had - both in Champions League and now in the Europa Cup - and we know that it’s certainly going to be a difficult night for us.
