Askou’s side hot on Hibs’ heels after impressive victory
MOTHERWELL moved level on points with 10man Hibs by coasting to their fourth win in five Premiership games.
Jens Berthel Askou's entertainers were well on top when aided into the lead by a penalty, given by VAŘ and converted by Tawanda Maswanhise, on 19 minutes.
Elijah Just took advantage of chaotic defending only three minutes later to sweep home the second.
Grant Hanley's red card on 34 minutes gave the visitors a mountain to climb.
A goalline clearance from Johnny Koutroumbis to deny Martin Boyle prevented Hibs from getting back into it before the break.
Oscar Priestman, one of five Motherwell changes from the win at Killie, hit a post and Raphael Sallinger saved well from Regan Charles-Cook.
One more goal would've seen Well leapfrog Hibs but they look dangerous in fourth as serious European contenders.
