Patrick eyes Race to Dubai top dog status after pipping Calum

PATRICK REED set out his stall to resurrect Captain America by leading the charge for Race to Dubai glory as Calum Hill's Qatar chance ended on the rocks.

The 2018 Masters champion made it two DP World Tour wins in three weeks to hammer home that he's well and truly back after four seasons on LIV.

Reed confirmed last month he would be teeing it up on the DP World Tour this season before being eligible to return to the PGA Tour come August.

And having won the Dubai Desert Classic before losing in a playoff in Bahrain, he pulled off a two-shot Qatar Masters triumph to motor well clear in the season-long Race to Dubai.

Hill finished runner-up, his five-under 67 seeing him eagle the par-five 10th and rack up four birdies in a row from the 14th to reach 14-under 274. The 31-year-old was five behind at the turn and, despite going six under through eight of his back-nine holes, found rocks off the tee on 18 to walk off with a par and leave Reed breathing space as a 70 sent him to 16 under.
