Oz ace Iredale backs 12th man in Euro clash

- BY DARREN JOHNSTONE

JACK IREDALE admits he was blown away by the noise a raucous 1,000-strong Hibs traveling army made before a ball was even kicked in Denmark last week.

So the Australian cannot wait to walk out to a record home crowd at Easter Road this evening as David Gray's side bid to cause a Europa League upset against Midtjylland.

Iredale insists the supporters were the 12th man in the MCH Arena last Thursday in their 1-1 draw with the Danes.

After laying solid foundations in the first leg in Herning, Hibs - unbeaten at home since last November - are banking on the home roar propelling the team in front of over 18,500 Hibees.

Iredale said: “I'm really excited, even during the warm-up over there me and a couple of the boys were talking about how good we felt because of the support that we had.

“That was only 1,000 fans in the corner of a stadium, so I cannot wait to see Easter Road - a full stadium of Hibs supporters and to see the kind of noise that they can generate.
