Super Swede Ludvig soars with 64 at Wentworth as he sends right signals

LETHAL Ludvig Aberg used Euro vibes to storm to the summit of the BMW PGA Championship.

The super Swede gave all the right signals to Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald with a sizzling, eight-under 64 on the first day at Wentworth.

Aberg was paired alongside Bethpage teammate Matt Fitzpatrick and the pair sparked off each other as the Sheffield man carded a 66 to sit just two behind.

Scot Richie Ramsay was also among those on six under. A number of Aberg’s Ryder Cup teammates are also in the hunt - with Victor Hovland (67), Shane Lowry (67) and Justin Rose (67) all five under, alongside Glaswegian ace Ewen Ferguson.

Rory Mcllroy (69) - who found water at the last hole for a bogey six - and Tyrrell Hatton (69) are five offthe pace, while Bob MacIntyre toiled to find his best form as he carded 71.

But Scandinavian Aberg felt right athome with Fitzpatrick and on the West Course as he notched a third round of seven birdies or more in five outings on the track.
