Balding's filly set to leave foes feeling Blue at Sandown

- BY GARRY OWEN

BLUE BOLT (2.25) should surge to victory for Andrew Balding in the Atalanta Stakes at Sandown.

The filly looked likely to appreciate tackling a mile when fifth on her belated debut at Southwell in April.

She confirmed as much when hosing up from Electrifarhh over that distance at Windsor.

She stayed upwardly mobile when brushing aside Majaz in another warm novice at Newbury in June before showing a liking for this venue by decisively defeating Cajole in a Listed event last month.

There is plenty more to come from this smart type who ought to add a hot Group Three to her growing CV.

WOROODD (1.50) can keep Ed Walker's bandwagon rolling in the trappy BetMGM Handicap.

The filly was an eye-catching third to Consecrated on debut in a typically strong Newbury maiden. The three-year-old quickly put that run to good use when bolting up from Highfield Sunshine at Thirsk.

Ahmed AI Maktoum's horse showed class and guts to fend off Cradle Of Love in novice company at Haydock so should cash in on an inviting mark.

The owner stands to double up with SADDADD (3.0) in the competitive betmgm.co.uk Handicap. Roger Varian's colt didn't look quite ready for the Classics when third on his return at Kempton in February.

But the bay hit back when giving the classy Gethin most resistance over 1m 2f at Newbury and excelled himself when dismissing Lightening Mann in the London Gold Cup there come May, meaning he can shrug off a 6lb hike.
