Nicky: I hope Rangers can Russell up some wins but only after we've dumped them

NICKY HAYEN has backed Russell Martin to turn ragged Rangers around - but only after his Club Brugge side kill off their Champions League dreams.

- BY ANDY NEWPORT

The Belgians heaped fresh pressure on beleaguered Light Blues boss Martin last week, clinically exploiting Gers’ defending in a 3-1 win at Ibrox. But Hayen remains a huge fan of the former Swansea gaffer and his commitment to a possession-based gameplan.

The Brugge boss knows Martin well having worked nearby during his own stint in Wales managing minnows Haverfordwest County.

And he hopes to see him make a success of it in Scotland - but only after his Brugge team finish off the job tonight.
