Strictly's Shirley on grandkids & hoping to do cha cha cha with son

SHIRLEY Ballas says she hopes to be a better grandma than she was a parent, after revealing of motherhood: "I was not there 24/7.

The Strictly head judge fears she was so busy with her career when son Mark was little that she was not around as a mum.

With Mark now 39 and dad to two-year-old Banksi Wylde, Shirley added: "I wish I could go back now, as I was only 25 when Mark arrived. It was a lovely surprise and we [she and then-husband Corky Ballas] were trying to make it in the industry.

"I want to be a much better grandmother than I was a mother, as I was pursuing my career."
