Mullins sends his star into battle for more Festival joy

- BY CRAIG SWAN

LOSSIE READY FOUR ACTION

WILLIE MULLINS has hurled the dice and handed Lossiemouth her chance to rip the Champion Hurdle to pieces.

The master trainer ended speculation as he declared his classy mare for tomorrow's opening day showpiece at Cheltenham.

Lossiemouth has won at the last three Festivals with a Triumph Hurdle and two Mares’ Hurdles on her impressive CV.

Now, aged seven and with key players such as Constitution Hill, State Man and Sir Gino ruled out of the two-mile cracker, owner Rich Ricci’s charge will aim for the four-timer in the biggest hurdle race of the week.

Crucially, Mullins confirmed he'll put first-time headgear on Lossiemouth in a bid to further spark her at the minimum trip.
