Local debut a tough test for Kartal in Eastbourne

BRITISH No.3 Sonay Kartal will debut at her home tournament in Eastbourne, years after attending the event as a child.

The world No.49 will face 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko in her opening match. And she said: "I've got loads of memories.
"I was doing what the kids are doing now, running around the courts, trying to get as many autographs as I could. I had a little pink autograph book."
Kartal is joined in the draw by fellow Brits Emma Raducanu, Jodie Burrage, Harriet Dart, Fran Jones and Mingge Xu.
