Royal Lodge repair bill likely to eat up any compo Andrew was owed

- BY JENNIFER NEWTON

SHAMED Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor faces being booted out of Royal Lodge early with no compensation because of the extent of repairs it needs, it has been revealed. The disgraced former prince looks set to miss out on £500,000 after surrendering the 75-year lease on the property to live on the King's private Sandringham estate.

It comes after he was stripped of his titles following revelations about his association with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Yesterday it was announced that the Public Accounts Committee will launch an investigation into the Crown Estate and leases it granted for homes held by other Royal Family members, after MPs demanded answers on Andrew's peppercorn rent deal for the Windsor mansion.

The public spending watchdog will demand answers from both the Treasury and Crown Estate, which gives profits to the Treasury for public spending.
