Kill bid rap after cop stabbed and man flees on boat

A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a police officer was allegedly stabbed over the weekend.
Jake Barrett, 31, of no fixed abode, was also charged with theft when he appeared in private at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday, August 4.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear again within the next eight days.
Police were called after getting a report of concern for a man in Greenock in the early hours of Sunday.
