Female pundit's reaction to comments by Rangers dud
A FEMALE football pundit has told a jury how ex-Rangers player Joey Barton left her “physically scared” with his attacks on social media.
Barton, 43, compared Lucy Ward and fellow TV panellist Eni Aluko to serial killers Fred and Rose West.
The former midfielder and failed manager faces multiple allegations of having “crossed the line between free speech and a crime”.
Ms Ward, also a former player, told a court yesterday she “knew he would get to me at one point” due to Barton's well-known dislike of women commentating on men's matches.
She told prosecutor Peter Wright KC the post made her feel “intimidated”.
Ms Ward said: “It was very unpleasant to be the subject of someone's abuse.
