Paceman looking ready to make Mark at Ashes
MARK WOOD roared through a spell in the nets yesterday - less than 72 hours until The Ashes get under way.
England had been rocked when paceman Wood needed scans of his hamstring after a reduced role in last week's tour game against England Lions.
But the results showed no cause for concern, prompting renewed optimism in the camp the quickest bowler in England could be ready for what is expected to be a fast and furious surface.
The series starts on Friday and England wicketkeeper Jamie Smith said: “He was absolutely rapid, I can tell you that first hand”
