DYLAN SMITH went from deflation to elation as the Scotland squads were announced.
It felt like a kick in the guts the fact his name did not appear on the Under-19s list.
But within a short space of time, the promising centre-half learned it was down to him being elevated to the Under-21s for the first time.
The 18-year-old is highly thought of within the Scotland set-up and is now hoping to cap a memorable season for clubs and country with a Ross County breakthrough.
Smith, who helped title-chasing Arbroath top League One in the first half of this season, is certainly in Don Cowie's thoughts approaching the final seven Premiership fixtures.
