Saints look decent value for a repeat of Cup win over Well
-
ST JOHNSTONE are hot favourites for the drop but boss Simo Valakari will be hoping last weekend's Scottish Cup win over Motherwell can spark a great escape in the Premiership.
Saints had a worse festive season than anyone unfortunate enough to sit down for their Christmas dinner with Elon Musk.
Although I prefer to imagine he was alone in his Tesla at a drive-through KFC listening to Mud belting out it'll be lonely this Christmas.
A run of defeats left St Johnstone cut adrift at the bottom and McBookie price them at just 1/6 to stay there, with 11th-placed Hearts nine points ahead.
Despite going nine games without a victory, I tipped Saints to beat the Steelmen in the fourth round seven days ago, with Stuart Kettlewell's boys looking leggy and turning in some poor performances.
Valakari's men delivered with a 1-0 win and will look to do the double over the Fir Park side when the teams face off again in the Premiership this afternoon.
