Detectives use site to identify victims of domestic crime

POLICE have revealed a Facebook group has helped uncover victims of abuse.

Information shared on the Are We Dating The Same Guy group in Glasgow has been used in domestic violence probes.

It describes itself as a "place for women to protect, support, and empower other women" and that it can be used as "a place where women can warn other women about liars, cheaters, abusers, or anyone who exhibits any type of toxic or dangerous behaviour".

Police Scotland's Detective Inspector Raymond Sagan said: "I've had an investigation where information shared in that Facebook group allowed us to approach other victims. We have used it to identify victims in previous investigations."
