50p marks 50yrs since first commercial flight
A 50p coin celebrating the speed and elegance of Concorde has been launched by the Royal Mint, marking 50 years since the supersonic plane's first commercial flight.
The coin was made in partnership with British Airways and Airbus, with its tails side showing the unmistakable jet in flight. The plane is shown against the backdrop of a departure board, with the word Concorde across the centre.
