Call your own ambulance

AN INVESTIGATION is under way after a pensioner claims he went to his GP surgery with chest pains - but was told to go outside and call an ambulance.

Danny Carrigan, 78, was out shopping when he took ill and thought he was having a heart attack.

The panicked OAP, from Armadale, West Lothian, decided to go to his doctor's surgery in the town to see if he needed medical attention.

But Danny says when he got to Barbauchlaw Medical Practice, he was turned away by a receptionist who advised him to call for an ambulance outside.

Danny, who is a carer for his wife, said: "I was in Aldi and I was going up the aisle and all of a sudden this pain came across my chest.
