Boy has fun with triplet sisters after drug trial success

- BY SALLY HIND

THE family of a schoolboy with cancer who was given a second chance at life have helped hundreds of families struggling with a terminal diagnosis.

Triplet Caleb Stirrat, from Clydebank, was given months to live after an aggressive brain tumour returned in 2020.

Five years on Caleb, nine, has been enjoying Christmas with sisters Poppy and Alyssia after a trial drug stopped the tumour in its tracks.

To mark his journey, his parents set up Caleb's Trio of Hope, in a bid to support other families facing palliative care. About 300 families have been helped by the charity.

Caleb's mum Karen said: "This year there have been a lot of bereavements and a lot of grief, which is hard. But we're just grateful we've been able to support those families.
