CALUM FERRIE says Queen's Park's older heads are determined to steer them clear of drop danger after vowing to shoulder the post-sack load.

CAL: SENIOR PLAYERS WILL ALL STEP UP

First-team coach Steven MacLean and B team boss Sean Crighton take the team at Morton today in their first game since Callum Davidson's departure.

Queen's aren't expected to rush into recruiting with seven league games left and a Trust Trophy final next weekend.

And Ferrie, second oldest in last week's starting XI after Sean Welsh, said: "We all talked about as a squad taking accountability.

"Our own performances haven't been where they needed to be for the last few weeks and that resulted in a change.

"We're six points above ninth place, which is good, but we've got to make sure we turn our form around.

"And as some of the more experienced players, we can be driving that for a lot of the younger boys and hopefully get a positive result this weekend.

"We talked about it as a more senior group, making sure we are driving the messages Macca and Sean are putting across."
