Sky's the limit for Jack at Pittodrie after old gaffer switched his role
JACK MILNE has revealed former Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass played a pivotal role in converting him from a midfield player to a centre-back.
The local boy has become a mainstay under Jimmy Thelin so far this season.
His breakthrough defensive display helped Dons shock Celtic on penalties to lift the Scottish Cup for the first time in 35 years back in May.
Milne has played in 10 of the 12 matches for the Reds in all competitions and has adapted well to playing in the middle of a back three alongside Alfie Dorrington and Mats Knoester.
The 22-year-old had made 25 appearances across the two previous seasons at Aberdeen under a succession of managers following loan spells with Brechin City and Kelty Hearts.
And it was after his loan stint at Glebe Park in the 2021-22 campaign that Milne was informed his best chances of making it in the Granite City were as a defender.
Milne, who made his Dons bow under Jim Goodwin in July 2022, said: “My days in midfield are behind me.
