MSP regrets that party is moving in a different direction from her
ASH Regan has quit Alba amid claims she had fallen out with new party leader Kenny MacAskill.
The MSP said that the pro-independence party had chosen a "different path" to the one she had advocated.
Regan, a former government minister, quit the SNP in 2023 after she opposed Nicola Sturgeon's plan for gender reform legislation.
She contested the Alba leadership against MacAskill after the death of former leader Alex Salmond.
In her resignation letter, she wrote: "I came into politics late in my career, in 2016, after years of activism for both Scottish independence and women's rights.
