Bully Watt slammed for 'masquerading as a protector' of females

- RYAN THOM

A VIOLENT thug who attacked two girlfriends has been slammed for "masquerading as a women's saviour" at asylum hotel protests.

Brute John Watt was convicted of abusing the two women in 2018 in a reign of terror branded "appalling" by a sheriff.

But now he has started turning up at anti-asylum protests to interview women about threats to their safety.

Last night anti-racism campaigners accused Watt of peddling a "false narrative" and called on him to stop his online campaigning.

Perth Against Racism said: "The false narrative of abusers masquerading as women's saviours has to stop.

"A jury convicted John Watt of assaulting two ex-partners during a campaign of violence and abuse.

"We ask anyone who organises these protests, are they happy to stand shoulder to shoulder with a convicted abuser of women? "Are you able to say you truly believe in protecting women and girls?" In his Bring the Noise podcast, Watt travels to asylum hotel protests and talks to women about their safety.

On August 9, 40-year-old Watt was present at a demonstration outside a hotel in Aberdeen where he ended up in a heated exchange with a female proimmigrant protester.

Watt, from Glasgow, claims that he spoke to a 25-year-old girl who is afraid to walk the streets of Aberdeen at night.
