It's just another playground scrap for under-fire Forest boss

- SARAH CLAPSON AT ST JAMES' PARK

ANGE POSTECOGLOU came out fighting as he compared the battle to save his job at Nottingham Forest to his boyhood playground scraps.

Another defeat - his fifth during seven winless matches in charge - ramped up the pressure on the Forest boss just 25 days into his tenure.

The 60-year-old expects to have a discussion with owner Evangelos Marinakis during the international break.

And it remains to be seen whether he'll be given time to turn the Reds’ form around — despite his conviction the results will eventually come.

Postecoglou said: “Seriously, what's wrong with something having a challenge.” Forest were commendably well-organised on Tyneside and frustrated the Magpies in the first half.

But 13 minutes after the interval, Bruno Guimaraes fired past Matz Sels from distance with Forest appealing in vain for a foul on Morgan Gibbs-White by Dan Burn during the run-up.

Eddie Howe's Toon constantly threatened to add to their tally but had to wait until six minutes from time.
