MIKAEL MANDRON insists it’s high time St Mirren got lethal in the league to remove the peril of Premiership relegation.
The Paisley men can draw nine points clear of second-bottom spot with victory at Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park tonight.
But finding any kind of topflight consistency this season has been hampered by a lack of goals.
Scottish Cup quarter-finalists Saints are the division's lowest scorers with 18 goals in 24 games.
Mandron has 11 for the season but seven have come in knockout competition for Stephen Robinson's cup specialists.
The 31-year-old striker is baffled by that form not translating to the league and appreciates a fix needs to be found quickly.
"It would definitely be great to get the league tally up," said Mandron.
"It's odd. Sometimes things are just hard to explain.
"We come away from certain games, look at each other and say, 'How have we not won today?'
"Sometimes you do everything right. You prepare and train the same way.
