Del can't wait to lead his Jambos out in Gorgie after dreaming about the big moment for ages
DEREK McINNES has waited more than 50 days to take charge of Hearts but he's been dreaming about walking out at Tynecastle for years.
The former Aberdeen and Kilmarnock boss has long eyed the Gorgie hotseat, often waxing lyrical about the fans and the stadium during visits with the Dons.
Now it's finally his - and he kicks off his reign today in the Premier Sports Cup clash against Dunfermline.
McInnes said: "I'm looking forward to it. It's something that I've pictured and thought about a lot.
"Saturday's about the game and the players winning but I am looking forward to it.
"It's a bit unusual, waiting this long to actually take charge of your first game proper but nonetheless, I think it's been worth the wait.
"Hopefully we can have a winning performance and remember it all for the right reasons."
