125 domestic abuse reports against cops

Shock figures condemned by charity

SCOTS cops and support workers have featured in 140 complaints of domestic abuse in just 12 months.

The "perpetrators" range from constables right up to chief inspector.

Last night, the shock figures were condemned by Zero Tolerance Scotland's primary prevention experts on ending men's violence against women and girls. The charity's leader said it was evidence that Scotland's national police force needs to undergo widespread "institutional change".

A report is to be considered tomorrow at a meeting of the complaints and conduct committee of the Scottish Police Authority.
