Yellow alert for weekend deluge

THE Met Office has issued a 24-hour weather warning for three counties in North Wales.

The yellow rain alert comes into effect at midnight on Saturday and lasts all day Sunday, covering Conwy, Denbighshire and Gwynedd.
The national weather agency has warned periods of heavy rain during Sunday may lead to travel disruption and some flooding, with up to 100mm of rain potentially affecting high ground.
