WYCOMBE leapfrogged Wrexham to go second in League One, while Shrewsbury saw their relegation confirmed after a decade in the third tier.
Caleb Taylor scored the only goal for the Chairboys against Stevenage last weekend and also proved the difference against Bolton as he headed home Luke Leahy's free-kick just before the hour mark at the Toughsheet Community Stadium to put Wycombe ahead.
Leahy then made the points safe in stoppage time and a third consecutive victory lifted the Chairboys into the second automatic promotion spot behind champions Birmingham, who scrapped out a goalless draw at home to strugglers Crawley in their first league match since being crowned.
