Worst fears realised as shop closes over roadworks impact
Daily Post
|September 22, 2025
FEW weeks ago I wrote of my concerns about how roadworks which last a long time can adversely impact on businesses in affected communities, and my worst fears have now been confirmed with the news that a longstanding business has been forced to close due to the impact of work on the road outside.
Casuals 143 has traded successfully in Deganwy, near Llandudno, for over 25 years, but the impact of work to replace a gas main which is estimated to last for almost three months, has apparently caused its immediate closure. The shock waves from the news have spread ripples of fear through other businesses on the same road, with others also concerned about their future viability.
