... IT WAS A YOUNG SEAL WHOSE YELP WAS MISTAKEN FOR HUMAN

A LARGE emergency operation was launched off Anglesey after cries of help were heard on a remote stretch of coastline.
Three Coastguard Rescue Teams (CRT) joined Moelfre’s all-weather lifeboat in combing the area for the source of the distress calls.
They were called out late Thursday afternoon, September 11. As well as the lifeboat, CRTs from Cemaes Bay, Holyhead and Moelfre were paged by Holyhead’s Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre.
RNLI Moelfre Lifeboat said the outcome was unexpected.
A spokesperson said: “After a thorough search of the area, the source of the distress calls was identified as the regular calls of a juvenile seal.
