Village is so beautiful experts say it can make you feel better

A BREATHTAKING seaside village features such vivid and colourful surroundings that it could genuinely enhance people’s well-being, according to a psychology expert.
Its location next to the Irish Sea may not immediately spring to mind as an ideal spot for escaping the winter gloom, but Portmeirion is a little bit different.
With nights drawing in and sunshine becoming increasingly limited, discovering methods to preserve a cheerful disposition proves crucial.
While certain individuals rely on vitamin D tablets or bright light devices to ward off seasonal blues, frequent travellers might have another option available.
Karen Haller, an expert in applied colour psychology, proposes a different method for boosting morale.
She argues that immersing yourself in luminous, chromatic settings delivers an unconscious mental uplift.
“There’s something about stepping into a place full of colour that instantly lifts you,” she said.
