Silkmen beaten as Met fight back

ATT CHUBB had been waiting 11 months for a goal, but when his big chance came he could never have imagined it would have been from 40 yards out.

His spectacular long-range shot brought down the curtain on Cardiff Met's 4-1 comeback victory over Flint Town United that pushed them into the top half of the JD Cymru Premier table.

The Silkmen took the lead via Elliot Reeves in the 22nd minute as an entertaining end-to-end clash in Cyncoed came to life. Adam Roscrow replied nine minutes later.

It stayed that way until the 83rd minute when Sam Jones headed home to edge the Archers ahead. Five minutes later Lewis Rees fired in a fierce free-kick from the edge of the penalty area and then came Chubb’s moment of glory with his long-range special.

The ball came to him from a miscued free-kick from just inside his own half by Flint goalkeeper Jack Flint.

Chubb's first-time control was excellent as he spotted Flint racing back to his goal. His execution from there was pinpoint as he launched the ball goalwards and saw it hit the target.
