Redrow founder is region's highest in Wales Rich List

Steve Morgan, the 69-year-old founder of Redrow Homes and the Steve Morgan Foundation

The Wales Rich List has been compiled for Wales Business Insider by Roberts Watts, who produces the annual Sunday Times Rich List for the UK.

It features some of the region's leading entrepreneurs who have made their fortunes across a range of sectors - from construction to holiday parks and care homes.

These are the North Wales names on the Welsh list. The full Welsh list can be found in the Wales Business Insider magazine.

1: (3 in Wales) STEVE MORGAN: 2025: £1 billion (2024: £986 million).

Redrow founder Morgan owns shares worth £216.2 million in Barratt Redrow, the merger of two of the biggest names in British housebuilding.

His investment company houses a private jet business and he has a stake in North Wales housebuilder Castle Green.

2 (6) SIR MALCOLM WALKER AND FAMILY: 2025: £424 million (2024: £417 million).

Walker sold frozen food as a side hustle while working for Woolworths. He later turned his part-time gig into what would become one of the UK’s largest supermarket chains, Iceland.

He and his family still have a nearly 60 per cent interest in the £707.3 million chain.
