Owners' foresight cuts promotion bill by £850,000

WREXHAM owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have executed a shrewd move in the face of a substantial promotion bill.
The team clinched their third consecutive promotion on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic, propelling them out of League One at the first attempt.
Life in the Championship will deliver several financial advantages for the Red Dragons, including an anticipated £8million rise in TV revenue.
However, Wrexham's promotion also presents challenges for the Hollywood owners as it has activated a significant amount to be paid in player bonuses.
Luckily, the pair had the foresight to anticipate another promotion early on.
Despite predictions of a mid-table finish in the third tier from many pundits, the club prudently secured an insurance policy before the season commenced.
The final bonus bill that Reynolds and McElhenney are expected to cover exceeds a staggering £2.3million.
The figure comprises £1.5m for payouts to players and staff, along with £875,000 due to other clubs from clauses triggered by previous transfer agreements.
