SHE APOLOGISES FOR LATE DECLARATION OF DONATIONS TO CROSS-PARTY GROUP COSTS
AN investigation into a breach of the Parliamentary rules by Plaid MP Liz Saville Roberts has been concluded, and has ruled that it was “inadvertent”.
The probe was launched by Daniel Greenberg, Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, after a complaint.
It related to the failure to register interests within the 28-day period set by the House.
Ms Saville Roberts (pictured) declared 10 donations totalling £47,250 in November last year. These related to the administration and coordination of the Justice Unions Parliamentary Group, a cross-party group which Ms Saville Roberts co-chairs and provided by Solidarity Consulting Ltd. They were for the administration costs to run the office and not personal donations to the MP herself.
The donations were from groups like the Police Federation and PCS union.
The inquiry considered whether Ms Saville Roberts had breached Rule 5 of the Code 5 of Conduct for Members of Parliament by failing to register ten interests within the 28-day period.
