POLICE REPEAT 'STAY OUT' WARNING AFTER SIGHTSEERS DEFY CLOSURE
POLICE have repeated calls for people to stay away from a Gwynedd beach amid concerns it remains unsafe. Pictures show the ferocious power of a landslide that ploughed through houses at Nefyn on the Llŷn Peninsula.
Owners of one property have confirmed their building was destroyed by a torrent of mud and debris that swept down from cliffs above the beach.
Cyngor Gwynedd said several private properties were affected but it is too dangerous to assess their condition because of the risk of further landslides.
The council said the properties were unoccupied at the time and there were no casualties.
However there are concerns the scene of destruction will attract disaster tourists and over-curious youngsters.
