If it doesn't hurt you then you should not be here, warns Dalot

DIOGO DALOT has warned any Manchester United player who is not “hurt” by losing the Europa League final that they should leave the club.

If it doesn't hurt you then you should not be here, warns Dalot

Ruben Amorim hoped to salvage a miserable season by winning the Europa League, but his side were defeated at the Estadio de San Mames by Tottenham.

Tottenham won the scrappy and low-quality contest in Bilbao, lifting their first trophy since 2008.

United have endured their worst campaign in the club’s modern history, but they still have a dead-rubber game to play against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

United are licking their wounds and Dalot spoke honestly about the team’s shortcomings this season.

“You come here with an expectation to win the game, to get something to grab some positivity from this season, but in the end, it's hard to take,” Dalot told MUTV.

“A really tough result, obviously, not being able to win a trophy that could give some joy, especially to the fans.

“Seeing them at the end hurts a lot, so a really, really tough night. I think it sums up a little bit our season, a rollercoaster of emotions during the game. We started well, I think.
