Huge sinkhole shuts off part of Coast Path

A sinkhole has closed a section of the Wales Coast Path near Llangwnnadl on the Llyn Peninsula, Gwynedd

A LARGE sinkhole has closed a section of the Wales Coast Path in Gwynedd.

A wooden walkway has partly collapsed into a cliff-edge chasm on the Llyn Peninsula.

The public are being warned to stay away from the area near Llangwnnadl on Pen Llyn's northwest coast. Cyngor Gwynedd urged people not to walk past the site "under any circumstances".

The sinkhole appeared beneath the path in the area of Trefgraig Plas and Bodferin after weeks of heavy rain. It's threatened to swallow the walkway, one end of which has dropped into the hole.
