Hovercraft scrambled after people try to walk across River Dee

A HOVERCRAFT was called to assist after reports two people had left a grounded vessel and were trying to walk across the River Dee.
Coastguard teams were called to the incident on Monday amid concerns the people could become trapped in mud.
A Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team statement said: "Our team was tasked this morning to assist Flint Coastguard Rescue Team. Two people had left a grounded vessel near Greenfield Docks and were attempting to walk/wade across the River Dee, towards Parkgate.
